Overview on this Certification
The Advanced Human Resource Management Program is comprised of five convenient half-day sessions that provide participants with advanced-level information, guidance and best practice tips on topics every experienced human resources professional should know. This program is a great next step to those that have previously completed our Introduction to Human Resource Management Program and want to take their career to the next level. This is also a great opportunity for PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, and SHRPM-SPC certified professionals who are looking for a way to earn credits, particularly those harder to find business credits.

Day 1: HR as Strategic Partner: Your New HR Role* (July 31)
Today’s HR department must play a major part in an organization’s overall strategic objectives. To do this, HR must understand organizational objectives and align and capitalize on the talents and resources of its people to meet those objectives. This session focuses on the steps HR can take to be the organization’s strategic partner and be seen by executives as an integral, indispensable partners.
Day 2: Compensation Planning (August 7)
In this session, attendees learn the key elements of creating an effective compensation plan with focus on design and development techniques to achieve optimal results for your company. Topics include: types of compensation, job analyses, job descriptions, job evaluations, pricing jobs and other compensation best practices.
Day 3: Employment Law III (August 14)
Human resources professionals must navigate the ever-changing field of employment law compliance. This session focuses on the tougher areas of employment law, including advanced leave issues, tricky employee medical issues, difficult terminations, and tough harassment com- plaints. We will also discuss legal updates and what to do if you are sued.
Day 4: Internal Investigations (August 21)
Harassment, employee theft, on-the-job substance abuse—just some of the reasons companies conduct internal investigations. Good inves- tigations can be effective in resolving workplace problems or defending against lawsuits. In this session, attendees learn when an internal investigation may be appropriate and best practices.
Day 5: Metrics to Align HR with Your Business* (August 28)
As a true business partner, HR must have the ability to communicate with top management using hard data that aligns with an organization’s business goals. HR metrics discussed include turnover ratios, cost per hire, benefits costs, and return on investment, among others.
* The designated sessions have met HRCI’s criteria and are approved for SPHR Business recertification credit.
Participants will receive their Certificate upon completing all five (5) sessions.
