An Investment in Training and Development Can Yield Higher Engagement and Profitability

Expert Training in a Variety of Formats

By offering over 300 distinct classes at a variety of times throughout the year and in multiple locations, Employers Council trains over 25,000 employees of our members each year. Employers Council offers training in leadership skills, from first line supervisors to managers to the C-suite, HR skills, employment law, and technology, in addition to numerous other classes.  We not only offer our scheduled catalog courses and recurring annual conferences, but we also develop briefing sessions on the new, cutting edge issues that arise. We can teach the class curriculum as offered in the catalog, or we can work with you to customize the curriculum to meet your specific needs by combining aspects of various different class offerings.

Classes are open to members of Employers Council and offered in our offices or online. In addition, virtually any of the classes offered in our catalog can be taught at your location.

Visit our training catalog  to explore classes that may be of interest to you.

Here are the formats we offer training in:

  • In Person – Whether you come to an Employers Council office, or you'd like us to come to you, we offer in person training throughout the year. The opportunity to interact with an experienced instructor in person often provides the highest learning potential. Questions can be answered on the spot, and workshops and in person exercises give you an opportunity to network and learn from your peers.
  • Online – Online class offerings help you save on the expenses and mental overhead of commuting and provide a lot more flexibility for attendance. We can accommodate more people in an online course, so you don't have to worry about spots filling up. This format of class still includes a live component for exercises, online networking, workshops, and Q&A.
  • Webinars – Our webinars offer the most flexibility on timing and attendance. Pre-recorded webinars can be viewed at any time and absorbed at your own pace. Live webinars allow for an unlimited number of attendees and sometimes include an option for Q&A. We'll also provide you with access to the recording, so you can revisit the topic as many times as you'd like.
  • Conferences - Employers Council host a number of conferences to help executives, managers, administrators, legal staff, and HR professionals stay up-to-date on the latest industry best practices and changes in employment law that can affect their workplace. Learn more about our employment law and HR conferences.

Training at Employers Council is offered in these different formats to accommodate your budget and schedule. Our training and development experts match the format to the style of learning that leads to the highest retention, so that even if you can't attend a live training or conference, our pre-recorded online webinars are beneficial investments of your time.

Strong Training Foundation

“Have been working with Employers Council for over 20 years between two different organizations. Educational training programs have always been excellent and have many times helped me earn credits towards keeping my SPHR. Also when advice or extra help is needed, the response and assistance has been excellent. Keep up the good work."

Jane Smith, HR Assistant

Help with Reorganizing

“A while ago, Arapahoe Library District improved its processes.  This led to a significant restructuring.  It was a complex undertaking, and both HR and legal issues needed to be identified and then addressed.  We called Employers Council.  They explained the legal issues that could arise, then they helped us develop a decision framework to make determinations about future staffing that was beneficial to our process and legally sound.  Finally, they helped us with training once the changes were made.  This was a challenging time, and knowing Employers Council could be there to help was comforting to us."

Caroline Heinselman, HR Director

Rich Training and Coaching Experience

“My richly rewarding experience with Employers Council's Nonprofit Leadership Institute and the personal insights from my executive coaching transformed the way I look at myself and my organization. I can now better visualize the leader I want to be and how to recognize the strengths each individual brings to the organization. And my amazing classmates are people I now count as friends and colleagues."

Kevin Bommer, Deputy Director
